The ISU, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the Organizing Committee of the Winter Universiade 2007 agreed in principle to introduce Synchronized Skating at the 2007 Winter Universiade in Torino/Italy from January 17-27, 2007.
It is foreseen that eight (8) teams from three (3) continents will be invited to participate, namely from the following ISU Members: Canada, Finland, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, Sweden and the United States.
The teams with the number of skaters as per the ISU Rules would be composed of female skaters only, aged 17 to 28. To participate in this FISU Event, the teams must fulfill the specified FISU regulations for eligibility.
More detailed information will be given to the invited ISU Members once the final agreement and procedures have been finalized with FISU and the local organizers.
This will also specify the cost for board and lodging (maintained at a reasonable amount) that will be at the direct charge of the participating teams.[/quote:78f1860dbe]
