Salve, mi fa molto piacere segnalarvi la possibilità di recarsi in Russia con l'associazione SCI (Servizio Civile Internazionale) per partecipare a un campo di volontariato.

Lo SCI è una ONG riconosciuta dal Ministero degli Affari Esteri e Membro consultivo dell’UNESCO e del Consiglio d’Europa. E' un movimento laico di volontariato, presente in 43 paesi in tutto il mondo. Da 90 anni promuove attività e campi di volontariato sui temi della pace e del disarmo, dell'obiezione di coscienza, della cooperazione e della solidarietà internazionale, della tutela dell'ambiente, della protezione civile, dell'inclusione sociale, della promozione culturale.

Ho sempre viaggiato nel mondo partecipando a campi di volontariato internazionali del SCI e vi assicuro che è il modo migliore per conoscere la realtà del Paese straniero ospitante.
Sono responsabile SCI per Catania e provincia, se avete qualche cosa da chiedere contattatemi pure senza problemi.

Quest'anno abbiamo 44 campi estivi e 10 campi della durata di 10 mesi per giovani sino a 30 anni che vogliono fare la propria esperienza di Servizio Volontario Europeo in Russia (questi ultimi con scadenza 1 giugno), tutte le informazioni sul sito dell'associazione.

Ho informato l'ambasciata e i consolati russi in Italia, augurandomi che diffondano la notizia e non creino difficoltà ai volontari italiani per ottenere il visto d'ingresso (10 anni fa non me lo rilasciarono e per me fu una grande delusione...a Settembre dovrei partecipare a un campo a San Pietroburgo - visto permettendo), grazie.

Descrizione: The camp is organized in cooperation with “Creative Group “TONNA”. It is a regional youth organization with aim is to support and develop creative potential and leadership skills of young people in our city and region. «Multimatograf: create the spirit of art» camp is a perfect opportunity to encourage young people to develop and use their art and technical skills through participating in organizing one of the brightest events in the field of multimedia art in Russia. The festival will be implemented in 9th time. Tipologia di lavoro: Work:volunteers will help to organize the festival: - making preparatory work with the art materials, - some paper work, - making the film about the festival, - work with participants of the festival.
Parte studio: Volunteer also can be the participants of the festival and can show there own cartoons. Visiting historical places of Vologda and the most interesting museums of the city, making parties and other entertaining activities concerning intercultural learning.
Alloggio: Accommodation will be organized in host families, 1-2 people in a room. Every family has their own kitchen and bathroom.Breakfasts will be organized in host families too. Lunches and dinners – at the office, cafe or in host families.

Descrizione: Nikola-Lenivets village is situated in the Kaluga region in the center of the European part of Russia. The workcamp is situated at the first Russian art-park «Nikola-Lenivets» which is also one of the biggest in Europe. This is a place for living and creation outdoors, at the countryside, where such international events as Archstoyanie, Beaubourg and the Night of the New Media are taking place every year. This is a territory, which is open for initiative, communication, searching of the new ways and co-creation on the field from art to eco-farming. http://nikola-lenivets.com/farm/?lang=en
Tipologia di lavoro: volunteers will work at the eco-farm, which provides vegetables for the Art-park. Work includes digging, planting, removing the grass, watering ect. Also we have birds (guinea-fowl and gooses), so you may take care of them: feeding, cleaning.
Alloggio: Volunteers will live in tents at the camping in the area of the art-park, so they have to take their sleeping bags and mats. Food will be provided by the organizers three times per day. There will be available toilets and shower nearby. You can wash your clothes at the automated laundry. It’s possible to provide the vegetarian food.

Ubicazione approssimata: Kaluga is a large historical, cultural and industrial city. It is located in the Central Federal District, the distance to Moscow is about 200 km (it takes about 2,5 hours by train to get to Moscow). Small and picturesque village Nicola-Lenivets is located on the banks of the Ugra River where in the 15th century was a great battle of Russian history named «Great stand on the Ugra River» in 1480.
Note: The participation in the festival will be free, also you may walk wherever you wish at the territory of the Art-park. It’s really plenty of things should be seen! You can walk on the forest, enjoying its unique diversity of the plants which is presented at this area; visit the old church on the bank of the Ugra-river, which was abandoned during the Soviet period and being under the reconstructing nowadays. And of course you cannot resist from the swimming in the Ugra-river, but be careful! The stream is quite rapid and treacherous. The excursion in Kaluga (Museum of Cosmonautics) might be provided for the little extra money.

Myshkin 1

Descrizione: This project is for those who love kids and would like to spend lots of time with them.
Tipologia di lavoro: Educational and cultural work with children (age: from 7 to 16) in the camp. Volunteers will run workshops, studies, lessons, conversations, hobby groups, plays, competitions, trainings in English. They will be busy 6-7 hours a day, but the time will be split between morning classes and evening events.
Alloggio: the volunteers will live in separate leaders’ rooms. The volunteers will eat with children together in the canteen of the rest house (breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack).
Lingua: English
Requisiti energy, communicative skills, skills of working in a team. Experience of working with children is preferable. Ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage.
Ubicazione approssimata: Yaroslavl is a historical city and a part of the famous “Golden Ring” of Russia. The Golden Ring (Russian: Zolotoye Kol’tso) is a group of historical cities northeast of Moscow that has played an important role in Russian history. Volunteers will stay in a children camp near Myshkin, another historical town of Yaroslavl region.
Note: There are morning language classes with kids, afternoon workshops, evening events. An excursion round Yaroslavl and a trip to Myshkin will be provided on free time.

Descrizione: A camp for Russian kids will take place in the resort house (about 20 km away from the city of Cheboksary, the capital of the Chuvash republic). Foreign volunteers will work together with Russian volunteers as counselors and organize cultural and educational activities for the participants (local school kids – aged 7 - 17). The idea of the camps is as follows: - intercultural exchange - educating kids interested in other cultures, tolerant to other nationalities, religions, races - learning foreign languages - educating kids to be leaders with active life position
Tipologia di lavoro: The volunteers will work as counselors (along with Russian volunteers) for 7-17 year old children and participate in the daily life of the workcamp – there will be different cultural, linguistic activities, sports and games. We would like every foreign participant to make a presentation of his/her native country and culture. You can prepare different ways of showing and sharing your culture and knowledge with others. Also the volunteers will get the opportunity to organize their own workshops for kids – using their skills and knowledge.You can realize the unique opportunity to teach Russian and Chuvash kids English, French, German, any other language. The groups for teaching will not be large, from 5 to 12 participants.
Parte studio: you’ll get skills and knowledge in cross-cultural education and understanding. You’ll learn to speak Russian, know about the unique Russian and Chuvash culture, language and history of Chuvash people (local ethnic group - of which Cheboksary is the capital - of mixture of finnish-hungarian tribes with turkish tribes. The Chuvash language is in Turkish family of languages); you’ll be able to share your knowledge in speaking different languages with the youth from Chuvashia and other regions of Russia.
Alloggio: in the resort for kids, in brick house; counselors live together in male, female, mixed rooms. Showers are available all the time. No sleeping bags are needed, food is provided in the local camp cafeteria.

Descrizione: The camp is organized by the Inter-regional charitable public organization “Siberian Environmental Center”, which situated in Novosibirsk. Novosibirsk is the third most popular city in Russia after Moscow and St. Petersburg. About 1,5 million people live there. Novosibirsk - is a scientific, cultural, industrial, transport, trade and business center of Siberia. Scientific Center, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences are located in Novosibirsk. The biggest university is Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU), in which over 22 thousand students study. This city is called the center of science and students.
Tipologia di lavoro: Main objective of the camp - the ecological improvement of the Siberian river Izdrevaya and organizing events to save it. Volunteer tasks: - Cleaning the river banks of debris, - Rafting on the river and the installation of information boards about the importance of preserving the river, - Carrying out environmental actions, - The distribution of environmental newspaper for local residents, - The organization of ecological festivals for local children.
Parte studio: Regional flora and fauna
Alloggio: The volunteers will live in tents. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be cooked by cooks in the specially organized field kitchen. The camp will be provided by toilets and showers.

Requisiti Sleeping bags are necessary + medical insurance is necessary.

AaPPLE Global Village

Volunteers will give classes in English for kids, so that they can improve their language skills and learn about different countries the volunteers are from. Also we will run master-classes, studies, conversations, workshops, plays, competitions, trainings. We will be busy 5-6 hours a day, but time will be split between morning classes and evening events. Volunteers will also present the culture of the countries they come from.
Alloggio: Volunteers will live in a rest house (separate rooms for girls and boys). The volunteers will eat with children together in the canteen about 5 times a day.
Lingua: English
Requisiti energy, communicative skills, skills of working in a team. Experience of working with children is preferable. Ability to play a musical instrument is an advantage. You should be ready to tell more about your culture so make sure to bring photos, music, videos and everything you consider useful for that. We are waiting for creative personalities!
Motivation letter is required.
Ubicazione approssimata: Our camp is situated in a picturesque place of South-Western Siberia – Soloneshnoe village in Altai krai. Altai krai is famous with its history and natural contrasts. The region attracts tourists, artists, poets, and spirituals with its numerous lakes, waterfalls, mountains, mineral springs and ancient findings. It’s a great place for relaxation and exploration.
Note: Free time activities: Numerous unique excursions will be offered to the volunteers. 1. A tour of the capital of Altai krai – Barnaul. 2. Volonteers may take part in a very specific event – cutting of the antlers of young Siberian stags. 3. A trip to Shepeta Mountain to see a wonderful view of the region. We can see foxes, ground squirrel and other wild animals running by on the way to the top. 4. A trip to the highest waterfalls in the region. 5. You may see the greatest regional treasure – The Denisov Caves famous for its paleoarchaeological and paleontological findings. You’ll live in a peaceful and picturesque place famous for its history and nature.

Sodruzhestvo-2014

Descrizione: The project is implemented on base of a sanatorium camp “Raduga”. The 20th international camp “Sodruzhestvo” will be organized there. The camp is situated in Ryazan region. Ryazan is an ancient Russian town about 190 km southeast of Moscow. It is beautifully located on the Oka river, with a very romantic Kremlin, standing high above the city. Ryazan princedom; in 1365 and 1379 was burned by mongol-Tatars, but was restored. Throughout history Ryazan has been a center for science and culture
Tipologia di lavoro: The volunteers will be involved in organizing animating, educational activities for children. They are expected to conduct linguistic workshops, to prepare different events and lead them for children, to organize and judge the sport matches. Another task for the volunteers is to elaborate and organize the days of their own countries for the children.
Parte studio: Russian traditions and culture, life of provincial Russian city.
Alloggio: The volunteers will live in two floored buildings on the territory of the camp (4 persons per room). A shower and a bathroom are available on the same floor with the living rooms. The food will be provided in the canteen.

Make A Granny Smile

Descrizione: The project is organised in cooperation with the charity foundation for helping elderly people “Old age is happy age” and retirement house of Belyov town, which is a home for 80 elderly people.
Tipologia di lavoro: Minor repairs in 4 rooms of residents. Many of them haven’t left their rooms for ages, and that is why the interior is very important for them. Volunteers should be interested in spending time with the residents, taking them for a walk, listening to their stories, talking to them because grannies and grandpas do not get much of attention and miss the sympathy and interest of other people.
Parte studio: Problem of elderly people in Russia. Excursions in the museum of local history and monastery of Belyov.
Alloggio: Dormitory accommodation in the town. Volunteers will cook themselves.
Ubicazione approssimata: Belyov town, Tula region. 300 km from Moscow.

Descrizione: Be Earth friendly (ProSvet in Russian) is an ecological project of ProOthody coalition, which works for promoting separate waste collection in Russia and recycling. project is organised for the 3rd year. It gathers up to 150 people every year at different location, people concerned about ecological issues and willing to make a change by acting on a local level, like cleaning lakes and forests from the illegal trash dumps. Tipologia di lavoro: Cleaning of the forest and lakesides from trash. Volunteers will also prepare and set different information stands and posters and set them around the cleaned-up territory. There will be rich educational program on the topic of environmental issues for the participants of the camp.
Parte studio: This year the camp will take place at the lake near Luga city, 2 hours train ride from St. Petersburg, therefore it is possible to go for sightseeing in St. Petersburg on weekends. there will be different study activities in second part of the day after working time: various workshops, yoga, Russian games, different training with invited experts, international cultural events.
Alloggio: Sleeping in tents. Camp cook will provide meals 3 times a day. The food is only vegetarian. You also may buy some grocery in the city nearby. Solar power to charge gadgets.
Requisiti Please bring working clothes, sleeping bag and tourist mat, mosquito repellents, swimming suit, raincoat, rain boots, warm clothes, and clothes for sunny days.

Descrizione: The project is organized by the botanical garden of the Moscow State University (MSU). This University is the largest University in Russia and one of the oldest. It was founded in 1755 by Mikhail Lomonosov, whose name was later added to the name of the institution in his honor. The botanic garden of MSU was founded at 1706. Then it was just a chemist’s garden. Medicinal herbs were grown there. In 1805 it was bought by MSU and since the middle of the 19th century exotic plants started to be grown in the garden. Classes for the students have been conducted since the end of 19th century in the botanic garden. During its lifetime a few thousands sorts of the plants were grown in the garden.
Tipologia di lavoro: The main task of the work includes the rearrangement of two parts of the garden’s territory. The volunteers will have to take care of the garden and flower-beds, to cut bushes, take away rubbish and to dig up ground. Also they will plant, and gather berries and fruits. One of the possible activities of the volunteers is helping to lead excursions in the garden. The new site of the Botanical Garden, designed for people with disabilities. The volunteers are expected to work six hours per day. And be ready for manual labor. Besides volunteers will take part in the ecological conference.
Alloggio: The volunteers will live in the dormitory of the Moscow State University. Bathroom and kitchen are available. The volunteers will cook breakfast and dinner by themselves, lunch will be provided in the canteen.

Tipologia di lavoro: During 5 days (from 01/07/2014 to 06/07/2014) main work will be holding dance workshops in a dancing studio and outdoors. Participants will teach students different street styles (Hip Hop, Waacking, House, Locking, Breaking etc.). After 5 days working, they will take part in a charity festival, organized together with different charity and social organizations. 7/07/2014 participants will go to the dancing camp «Art-Rise». It will be hold out of town in the forest near the lake. This picturesque place is a famous place for tourists. There participants will take part in educational dance program. They will teach teenagers and also study dancing. Since we work with teenagers the main condition is prohibition of alcohol and other substances.

Tipologia di lavoro: The workcamp is situated at the first Russian art-park «Nikola-Lenivets» which is also one of the biggest in Europe. The Children's home (2009) and the House of mercy (2009) in Tutaev, pensioner’s apartments, an accomplishment of parks to the 1000 anniversary of the Yaroslavl city (2010), schools, kindergartens and social rehabilitation centers (2011-2013) has been repaired. This camp is a great opportunity to see one of the beauties cities of “Golden Ring” of Russia. The Golden Ring (Russian: Zolotoye Kol’tso) is a group of historical cities northeast of Moscow that has played an important role in Russian history.

The high level of the conservation of the cultural landscapes and their valuable elements make the national park Kenozero the unique region with no analogues in Russia or worldwide.
Tipologia di lavoro: Volunteers will help the staff of the park in their work of the maintenance of the monuments of the wooden architecture. Chapels of Kenozero are truly legendary. All the chapels are in the need of regular maintenance: repairing of the stairs or cleaning of the roof and walls from moss and lichen or mowing the grass nearby. You will have the amazing opportunity to help the staff of the park to preserve the real treasure – these unique chapels.
Parte studio: System of protected areas in Russia. Parte studio: Solovetsky Islands are an archipelago located in Onega Bay of the White Sea less then 100 miles south of the Arctic Circle. Project takes place in a Botanical Garden, which is situated on a biggest island of the archipelago. This remarkable garden was created in the 19 century. Some of the scientists among the prisoners in the Gulag were able to work on acclimatization in the garden, but many never returned to the mainland. In 1974, the Solovki Museum-Reserve took charge of the garden. In 2004 there were listed 147 species, forms and varieties of trees and shrubs and 255 herbaceous plants.
Alloggio: Volunteers will live in tents in a well-equipped camping of the garden. Food will be provided; volunteers will cook by themselves as a group.

Descrizione: The camp is organized by Smolensk regional public youth organization “Rassvet-S” on the base of a rehabilitation center for children and youth “Cherry”. The center was opened in 1981 as a children’s health-improving camp. Since 2006 it became a rehabilitation centre for children. Every year the center hosts about 3000 children. The children come there for rehabilitation for different periods from 3 weeks till half a year. There are children with different kinds of disabilities coming there, with infantile cerebral paralysis and other physical and mental disabilities. Also a few times a year a group of workers of the center coming to villages in Smolensk region to meet families which have children with disabilities and offer them to bring the children to the center for rehabilitation.
Tipologia di lavoro: The volunteers are expected to help to organize the entertaining activities and sport games for the children. Also the volunteers will help tutors in the activities orientated to the social rehabilitation of disabled children. As well as to support the repairing of the Center (clean the rubbish at the territory of the Center, paint some benches, fences, walls etc).

Descrizione: This project is organized in cooperation with association “Global Spirit”, which is aimed to keep attention of young generation to global ecological problems and promote old ethnic traditions of Russia. Project is located on a bay of famous Baikal Lake, 260 km north-east from Irkutsk. Baikal is the deepest lake in the world and is included in the World Heritage list of UNESCO. It is very popular tourist area, where now we have a big problem with garbage.
Tipologia di lavoro: Big part of our work will be cleaning of the lake’ coast from trash. We will also carry out a number of master-classes and info-meetings to inform local people and tourists about ecological problems of Baikal Lake and importance of its unique nature. We will create crafts and hand-making sculptures from garbage in order to make this problem visible. In the end of the project volunteers will organize an exhibition of these sculptures in order to draw attention of local people, authorities, media and tourists to this problem. The list of possible activities might be complemented by something else upon a situation and public demand, so we rely on you flexibility and positive open-minded attitude.
Parte studio: Volunteers will have the ability to get to know old cultural traditions of local inhabitants: Buryats and nomads. There will be organized cultural master-classes and a trip through old nomad shaman’ paths. Volunteers can take part in old Kurykans rites (the Kurykans were indigenous people, who had inhabited the area till 12 century). Also volunteers can visit Olkhon Island, famous Kurykansky settlement, Sarminskoe Gorge – a place where the wind Sarma arises most of terrible winds of Baikal, etc. Volunteers can also swim in the lake and go for hiking in mountains.
Alloggio: Volunteers will live in a yurt camp: there are several authentic Mongolian yurts, which are made of wood and natural numdah/felt. Every yurt is well-equipped, with 4 beds; toilet and bathroom are available. Food will be provided; volunteers will cook by themselves as a group.

Descrizione: The hosting organization - International Youth Center “Earth, Planet of People” (Terre des hommes) – is a local NGO and specializes in recreational-educational programs for children, art projects, and social projects in the hometown Nerekhta. Nerekhta is an old town with a beautiful countryside and numerous churches that belong to the Kostroma region – a 5 hours’ ride northeast from Moscow.
Tipologia di lavoro: The aim of the international project “Photo Fences” is to transform the town's surfaces (fences, internal and external walls of public buildings, etc.) into creative spaces with the help of international team of socially active photographers by placing photos on these fences and buildings. Participants will work on the formation of individual and group photo projects on any theme. Photographers are responsible for their individual project, from idea to realization in the form of an individual photo fence. Photo themes are only limited in that they must reflect the old, Russian city of Nerekhta and be a link to its residents, places, architecture, etc.
Parte studio: During the program, participants go to workshops led by guest photographers and meetings for creative exchange. Additionally, this project offers the unique opportunity for cooperation and shared experiences with photographers from various countries. RESULT: 1)Photo fence–photo exhibition about the city,its events, residents 2)The Anniversary photo album for Nerekhta.
Alloggio: Volunteers will stay in a cosy hostel-type house, 4-6 people in a room. There are showers and toilets on each floor. Three meals a day will be provided for participants as well.

Descrizione: Project takes place on the fantastic island of Valaam - one of the most picturesque places and beautiful monasteries in the Northwest of Russia. Valaam, surrounded by the archipelago of more than 50 beautiful small islands, is situated in Lake Ladoga. During its centuries-old history, the Monastery has suffered from devastation and desolation several times. But, by God's mercy, every time it revived. Last time it recovered in atheistic Soviet Union on December 14, 1989, when a ship with six monks moored in the harbor. Since that day, the new history of Valaam began. A lot of monks live here today; some of them renovate old churches, other work in the fields. People come to help them to save cultural heritage, and due to them a lot of churches of Valaam are already renovated.
Tipologia di lavoro: International volunteers will be integrated into a group of 20-30 Russian volunteers and will work, eat and live all together. We will help monks in harvesting and cleaning the fields, grass cutting, preparing firewood and working in the garden. Volunteer should be ready to work hard. The work usually takes 6-7 hours a day.
Parte studio: Participants will be able to see the inner life of the Orthodox monastery. If volunteers would like to ask their questions, they will be able to do this in private conversation with one of the fathers. Also they have a pleasure to go hiking along the island, see how beautiful the northern nature of Karelia is, and visit churches, many skits and the farm of the cloister, where they can taste fresh milk.
Alloggio: In the dormitory (4-20 persons per room). Monastery provides beds with blankets, pillows etc. You should take working boots, gloves and clothes with you, raincoat and long skirts & kerchief for girls. The monastery provides ordinary (with meat) or vegetarian food. Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be served in a monastery canteen.

Descrizione: National park Kenozero is strictly protected area which represents the model of historical human habitat, the place that managed to preserve the centuries-old history and culture of the Russian North. The high level of the conservation of the cultural landscapes and their valuable elements make the national park Kenozero the unique region with no analogues in Russia or worldwide. Kenozero - a real treasure for fish. It is home to perch, pike, whitefish, burbot, roach and other representatives of fish fauna. For breeding fish needs clean spawning areas, which, unfortunately, are constantly overgrown.

Hostel In Touch is situated in the centre of St. Petersburg in about 10 min on foot from the main street Nevsky Prospekt. The goal of this workcamp is to comprehend the image of the contemporary youth by means of photography. International participants (6 volunteers) and local participants (6 volunteers) will take part in this project. Volunteers will have trainings and workshops by professional photographers every week day. In the beginning they will learn special techniques used by photographers and then will put the acquired knowledge into practice. Coordinators will prepare different topics and participants will base their entries on them. Volunteers shall be prepared for walking a lot and working according to a flexible time schedule. In the end of the project participants with coordinators and photographers will organize the exhibition with their best photos which will be selected by professional judges. This exhibition will stay some months in the city centre of St. Petersburg and then will move to Estonia for couple weeks. Volunteers will stay in the hostel In Touch in the city center of St. Petersburg (for more information on the hostel please visit its webpage at http://www.hostelintouch.com/). It is just 10 minutes on foot from the most famous street in St. Petersburg i Nevsky prospect. All the participants will live together in one room. You do not need a sleeping bag. Saint Petersburg is often described as the cultural capital of Russia. It is the northernmost city in the world to have a population of over five million. Our partner i NGO Language for success the language school existing since 2007. They provide high-quality courses of foreign languages, organise different events about languages and intercultural communication. Foreign volunteers work together with Russian volunteers as counselors and organize cultural and educational activities for the participants (local school kids i aged 8-16). 1. Making intercultural and educational workshops (about the volunteers native countries, ecology, water resources, human rights, antiracism, etc); 2. Teaching foreign languages to the participants (in the form of playing games, singing songs or improve their language skills through discussions); 3. Organizing some sport activities, strategic games, shows and handycrafts. The work is done 5 hours a day, two days off per week, for the days off sightseeing excursions are planned. The volunteers will be hosted in host families and youth hostels in Cheboksary. The food will be provided. No sleeping bags are needed. The camp will take place right in the city, the kids will stay in the offise of the language school from 9.00 to 14.00, each working day.Volunteers can spend their free time in the city. The shelter started its work in 2011. The main goal is searching homes for lonely and homeless animals. There are about 100 dogs and 30 cats hosted in the shelter at the moment. The shelter takes care of the animals until a family can host an animal. The staff of the shelter never puts down animals, only if they are painfully ill and there is no hope for recovery. Old animals stay in the shelter till they die. The staff of the shelter takes care of each animal very well. Every animal gets professional care, cleaning procedures and all necessary vaccinations. The shelter is supported only by donations and care of local volunteers. In June 2013 the shelter starts construction of a new building. The volunteers will help in constructing the fence, repairing and cleaning the open-air walking area as well as the pound. Military historical equestrian club Argamak Horses are often an object for admiration, as horses are an embodiment of power and grace, beauty and intelligence. Nowadays riding a horse is not such a usual thing as it used to be in the Past. Today the admirers of the equestrian sport may find very few Riding clubs in the Samara region. Last year Argamak offered equestrian classes, long horse rides and short riding excursions in the forest. The club is also known for dramatizing famous battles of different epochs. Argamak took part in numerous festivals and presented breathtaking horse tricks. Unfortunately nowadays only volunteers and the fans of equestrian take care of the club and the surrounding areas. For the locals Argamak has a historical value. The club staff members need assistance of the volunteers in maintenance, restoration of the club as well as taking care of the animals. Tasks: - construction of the fence- cleaning the surrounding territories- cleaning the lake- assistance in taking care of the animals (feeding, cleaning, walking)- assistance in construction of the stables - cleaning the shed Very basic conditions. Local municipals (Leningrad Region) and Tredy Centre for Disabled Kids.The workcamp is organized in order to develop volunteers initiatives; to share volunteers experience among participants from different countries; to promote intercultural dialog and mutual understanding. Local participants will take part in this camp too so international volunteers will have a great possibility to get closer to the Russian culture with the assistance of its representatives. More than that a few Russians living abroad will be participating in this projects as well creating a perfect possibility for cultural exchange between all the participants of this workcamp. This camp will be especially interesting for those who want not only to see the European face of Russia s Northern capital St. Petersburg but Russia s ancient orthodox tradition perfectly shown in Tikhvin Monastery founded in 1560.The monastery hosts the Icon of the Theotokos of Tikhvin, one of the most respected icons in Russia. The first part of the time volunteers are expected to work in the monastery. Volunteers are also supposed to take part in the preparation to the Day of Icon of the Theotokos of Tikhvin which is celebrated every year. The second part of the work is going to be creating different free-time activities for disabled kids in Tredy centre in Tikhvin. Tredy Centre is aimed to help children with physical and mental disabilities so volunteers should express their readiness and motivation to work with kids who have disabilities. Please also note that working in the monastery includes sticking to its quite strict rules (no alcohol, no loud behavior). Workcamp also includes some trainings and workshops on intercultural communication, teambuilding and work with people who have disabilities. Volunteers will stay in the monastery itself (there are some rooms equipped for staying) or in a local hostel nearby. Meals will be served in the monasterys canteen. Visa-support is provided. Insurance is not provided the camp is held in Tikhvin, a large town situated in 200 km from St. Petersburg and has more than 600 year history (firstly mentioned in 1383). The main sightseeing treasure here is the monastery. Also the sightseeing tour will be offered during leisure time programme. Volunteers will be as well provided with the excursion to one of the nearest cities such as Staraya Ladoga. Please note that excursion to St. Petersburg is going to be hardly possible during the camp so if you want to see the northern capital youd better arrive a few days before the project or after it and find accommodation for this period by yourself. The Chuvash language is the 4th minority language in Russia according to the number of its speakers. However, as all the minority languages, it has it s problems. NGO Haval is trying to solve these problems by organising different cultural and educational events. The summer camp is one of them. The main goal of the camp, is to create a tradition of annual meetings, where people could intensively study the Chuvash language, dive into the language environment, as well as learn about the culture, history and traditions of the Chuvash people through lectures, discussions, trainings, exercises. Participating in the camp activities; making presentation about your country and national culture; it would be especially appreciated if the volunteer knows any original language (or minority language) and could present it. The following activities are in the program of the camp: - Chuvash language lessons for anyone who does not speak it or speak not good enough; - thematic lectures and seminars; - workshops. Specialists in Chuvash folk crafts show and tell about folk embroidery, costumes, woodcarvings and more; - sport activities; - sitting by the fire, and much more. The Russian wild animal quarantine center )VELESi performs a full complex of works concerned with import of wild, ornamental, zoo animals to Russia and also their export abroad; their maintenance, treatment, quarantine, rehabilitation. Together with the Leningrad zoo The Quarantine Center )Velesi carries out programs on rescue of wild animals in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region. )Velesi is the only one such organization in Russia. More information in English can be found here: http://www.rqc-veles.com/?/English/Main.html Volunteers will prepare food for animals, clean cages, feed some animals (not dangerous), help workers is some manual work in the center, such as gardering, painting, etc. Work starts at 9 am and finishes at 4 pm with 1 hour break for lunch and short breaks for tea/coffee. Among the most interesting animals bears, bobcats, seals, alpacas (kind of Lamas), small horses and foxes are living in the centre. On the territory of the Center there is a possibility to make fire and barbeque, enjoy Russian banya. In 10 minutes walk there is a lake suitable for swimming and the farm for bisons, where it is possible to rent a horse. Also volunteers will have a possibility to know one of the most beautiful cities of the world - Saint Petersburg. Partner The Russian wild animal quarantine center «VELES» performs a full complex of works concerned with import of wild, ornamental, zoo animals to Russia and also their export abroad; their maintenance, treatment, quarantine, rehabilitation. Together with the Leningrad zoo The Quarantine Center «Veles» carries out programs on rescue of wild animals in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region. «Veles» is the only one such organization in Russia. More information in English can be found here: http://www.rqc-veles.com/?/English/Main.html Work Volunteers will prepare food for animals, clean cages, feed some animals (not dangerous), help workers is some manual work in the center, such as gardering, painting, etc. Work starts at 9 am and finishes at 4 pm with 1 hour break for lunch and short breaks for tea/coffee. Among the most interesting animals bears, bobcats, seals, alpacas (kind of Lamas), small horses and foxes are living in the centre. Please pay attention that all volunteers are to show their insurance on arrival and sing up the safety rules of the Center! Nor we, nor the Center are responsible for any damage made to volunteers on their own fault. Motivation letter is compulsory. Knowing some Russian is a great asset in this project. Location and Leisure time The «VELES» is located in the village Rappolovo, Vsevolozhsk district, Leningrad region. It is easy to reach it, but at the same time it is distant enough from a city – 20 km. The «Veles» is situated in an environmentally appropriate zone, among the nature. It essentially heightens an effect when treating animals, makes their maintenance in the Center comfortable. On the territory of the Center there is a possibility to make fire and barbeque, enjoy Russian banya. In 10 minutes walk there is a lake suitable for swimming and the farm for bisons, where it is possible to rent a horse. Also volunteers will have a possibility to know one of the most beautiful cities of the world - Saint Petersburg. For a weekend volunteers can stay in the city if they wish (for extra fee of 25 euro). Accommodation and Food Volunteers will live on the second floor of center’s building in double rooms. No need to bring a sleeping bag. There is a sauna/Russian banya, small gym, TVs, kitchen, and washing machine. Please keep in mind that the accommodation is situated outside the city so electricity may be provided unregularly. Internet may be provided via WLAN upon request if there is such capacity. Meals will be prepared by volunteers, products are provided. Please note as well that due to keeping some animals on the 1st floor of the center there might be unpleasant smell upstairs as well, so be ready for this. Our partner is a project Cheboksary - environmentally friendly and energy efficient city organised by the city administration. The project is carried out since 2011 and is aimed at improving the ecological awareness and consciousness of citizens. Cheboksary is a city 600 km to the east from Moscow and the capital of the Republic of Chuvashia. It is a beautiful and cosy city with its rich history but unfortunately some parts of the city are polluted with plastic and other garbage. The workcamp will help the citizens to make it cleaner and more beautiful. Cultural and educational activities; lessons at the university, school and orphanage; cleaning several city areas from the garbage.The action is carried out by nature lovers. Volunteers will help to clean one of the city parks i Park of 500s anniversary of Cheboksary. Participants will be able to enjoy the beauty of the urban landscape and meet the very friendly local people. Foreign volunteers will work together with Cheboksary citizens and local volunteers. The exact tasks will vary, and volunteers must be flexible in the work they do, and be prepared to implement different tasks.The volunteers need to prepare the presentation about their country and ecological situation there. As a part of the project the volunteers will give interviews in local media. Volunteers will stay in the host families. Breakfasts, dinners, transport and cultural program provided, volunteers will cook lunch for themselves. The workcamp is situated in Russia, Cheboksary. The volunteers will need to fly (or arrive with any other transport: train, bus etc.) to Moscow and take the train from Moscow to Cheboksary. Volunteers will take part in the celebrations of the Knowledge Day (September, 1) i beginning of the studies in Russian schools and universities.A welcome party will be organized where volunteers will cook their national dishes.Volunteers will get acquainted with rich and old Chuvash culture i visit Chuvash village, go to banya (sauna), try on the national dresses, taste traditional food. There will be organized excursions to the monastery and sacred springs with healing water.There is one of the longest cycling paths in Cheboksary, and the volunteers will get a chance to cycle on it. They also will see all the beauties of our town and get national symbols as presents. Local municipals (Kalininsky district) Volunteers will take part in a project Older Brother, Older Sister held by Kalininsky district. This project is to organize leisure time activities for kids staying in the Centre for Children and Family. Children staying there have some problems in their family and because of that they stay in the Centre while their parents take part in the activities of the social services aimed to keep families together and overcome problems such as drug or alcohol abuse. Some children are just visiting the centre from time to time because their parents have to combine several jobs and they cannot spend enough time with their kids. The aim of the project Older Brother, Older Sister is to give volunteers and kids a chance to be develop friendship while spending time together and enriching each other. In this workcamp international and local volunteers will work with children in pairs to overcome a language problem since kids may not speak English. Nevertheless knowing Russian language is going to be a great asset for volunteers. Work takes up 4-5 hours a day 5 times a week. The center of German language and culture in Ufa, Russia was founded in 2011.The main activity of this center is to teach the German language. It deals only with the German language and greatly succeeded in it. The aiming group are the kids (kids under school age), school children, students and adults. For each age, a special teaching program is provided which is recommended by the Goethe Institute. Education is based on the six -step system according to the Common European Framework for Languages from A1 for beginners to C1, possessing a high level. Method of teaching is built in such a way that after finishing the last level, the students will be able to continue their education anywhere in the world.After completing the course at a particular level, it is possible to pass an international exam, taken by certified professionals Goethe Institute on the basis of the center in Ufa (Start Deutsch, Zertifikat Deutsch, Fit in Deutsch, Goethe-Zertifikat).Besides the center organizes various activities, both educational and cultural: the festival of German films, festival of German songs, film club, the club of spoken German, Christmas, puppet theater in the German language, and many other activities. The volunteer will work as a teacher of German or assist in teaching in the local Center of the German language and culture. Of course volunteers will be involved in all the after school activities. As our kids are interested in other countries, because most of them have never been abroad before, the volunteer should be ready to tell them about his/her culture, history, national food, songs and dances. Moreover the volunteer will take part in the cultural events and local festivals. His/her help will be also required in the local Waldorfschule and in the kindergarten. The volunteer will live in a family. Sleeping arrangements may be private or shared, and in most cases you will be required to share a bathroom and toilet facilities. Ufa (Russian: and 1059;1092;1072;) is the capital city of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, and the industrial, economic, scientific and cultural center of the republic. Population: 1,062,319 (2010 Census).Ufa is situated in eastern Europe near its land boundary with Asia, at the confluence of the Belaya and Ufa Rivers, on low hills to the west of the southern Urals. It is located 1355 km to the east from Moscow. Ufa is linked by railways to the rest of Russia, having a railway station on a historic branch of the Transsib.Despite being a manufacturing and oil-refining center, the capital of Bashkortostan has some of the best-preserved nature in Russia. In our country the diagnosis syndrome Down turns out to be the verdict which leads to the loss of parents in most of the cases. Nine of ten families reject their children immediately. And only five of these nine live more than one year. Only 10 of children with the Down syndrome live in families. The rest of them are grown up and educated in orphanages.There is a wide spread opinion in the society that the disabled children are usually born in the families of alcoholics and drug addicts. That is why these families get into the zone of condemnation. The children with the Down syndrome are considered to be physically weak and impossible to educate.Some of the families did not want to put up with this situation and decided to establish a public organisation of parents and defectologists. The mission of this organisation is to defend and realize the rights of the disabled guaranteed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation.The activities of the Organisation are focused on:-defense of the disabled children s rights-participation in elaborating the laws and other juridical acts related to the rights of the disabled-providing psychological support to the children and their families-consulting the families on the questions of the disabled children s rights-providing information on the rehabilitation and medical treatment of the disabled children-creation of library of a specific literature-organisation of the seminars and trainings for the parents and specialists- organisation of leisure time for the disabled children - Assisting the disabled children- Organisation of the leisure time for the children- Creation of different activities and workshops, such as drawing, dancing, drama, handicrafts- Organisation of a specific workshop, for example, the volunteer can tell the children about the traditions, customs, holidays and day-to-day life of his/her native country- Assistance to the staff of the organizationWorking schedule: Monday-Friday 5-6 hours per day (an hour lunch break)Saturday-Sunday i days off Apartment shared with other volunteers or a host family. project Friendly Moscow is our main long-term project. We already had one MTV and one EVS volunteer who leaded the project. The idea of the project is to make Moscow a friendly, open and interesting place for foreigners and for locals as well. Language: at least basic Russian (because it is difficult to communicate and navigate without knowing Russian alphabet), English is obligatory and other languages are welcome Accomodation: a room in a host family Food : 100 euros for food are provided by AYA, the rest by volunteer himself/herself Transport: metro-bus-trolleybus card is provided by AYA NOTE: Motivation letter+ CV + photo required Volunteer’s ideal profile AYA is looking for a person who is highly motivated, open-minded, flexible and independent. Our organization is located in the area called Flacon Design Factory. It is a former industrial complex, gradually filling with design studios, promoters, showrooms and workshops. It is not the busy city centre. It is more like a new calm European district of Moscow. We rent an office space for 2 days per week in Flacon Eco-centre (http://centrecon.ru), plus we have an event area where we organise weekly meetings for volunteers. About AYA AYA is a non-profit NGO with its activities based on the principles of voluntarsm, equal rights of members of the organization, self-governance, legality, transparency. The aim of the organization is to promote volunteering and charity. The main activities of AYA: organization of international volunteer workcamps on the territory of Russia with promotion of conservation of Russian nature, sustainable living, environmental education and intercultural communication; informational, organisational, educational, technical support of social initiatives of volunteers and NGOs; educational activities, distribution of information about volunteer movement and charity work; organization of cultural and social events aimed at promotion of peace movement, sustainable living, active citizenship among young people. AYA has a democratic structure with the board which consists of young activists experienced in organizational activities. The staff of the organization also consists of young people. Nowadays there is 1 staff position for the whole year, plus 1 employee for the period March-July, 8 permanent volunteers. Apart from staff there are always volunteers in the office coming to help or organise different activities.
